Although refugee inclusion in host country education systems has emerged as a growing policy priority in an effort to improve education access and quality, education remains out of reach for half of refugee children: compared to the global average of 102%, the primary gross enrollment rate for refugee children in 2023 was only 65%. The data signals a clear need to understand the latest research on refugee inclusion, as well as the policy and practice takeaways emerging from the latest evidence.
To this end, INEE is hosting an event bringing together researchers from Education Research in Conflict and Protracted Crisis (ERICC) and other similar initiatives to present their latest research and findings in this area. Together, the panelists will engage in discussion about connections and learnings across contexts. These presentations, ranging from global evidence reviews to comparative longitudinal studies, will aim to create a more cohesive understanding of the latest research in refugee inclusion, with the aim to move the EiE sector forward through specific takeaways for policy and practice.
