Unicef UK and the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Global Education are pleased to invite you to the Girls on the move: education in a changing climate webinar.
Right now, children around the world are facing severe disruption to their education during Covid-19 – but this is unlikely to be the last interruption that many children face in their educational journey. As climate change continues to cause long-term changes and short-term disasters that uproot children and their families, the realisation of the right to education for many children will continue to be challenged. Within this context, it is vital that the UK Government continues to ensure every child has access to education. This is particularly true for girls, who are disproportionately affected by the impacts of climate change.
As we look towards a critical year for the UK and the Government’s commitment to girls’ education, this event will explore how the UK can deliver on its promise of supporting 12 years of quality education for every girl in the context of climate displacement. We will pose the question: Knowing that girls are disproportionately affected by both climate change and migration, how can the UK continue to ensure all girls realise 12 years of quality education?
We will be joined by speakers from around the world, exploring the diverse challenges and opportunities for girls on the move in a changing climate. Speakers include:

- Faisal Nur Ali, Youth Activist, Somalia
- Jo Rea, Director of Advocacy, Unicef UK
