Livestreamed from CGD London Office
Around the world, millions of children are either out of school, or in classrooms where they are not safe, experience violence, or encounter other barriers that prevent them from learning effectively. These challenges disproportionately affect the most vulnerable children and can exacerbate existing education inequalities across gender, ethnicity, disability and economic condition dimensions.
On the margins of the Education World Forum, the Center for Global Development (CGD) and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) will host a high-level panel discussion on how to make schools safer and more inclusive for children across Sub-Saharan Africa.
As efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4—the global commitment to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all by 2030—face growing challenges, education must remain a priority.
This event will highlight how leveraging local expertise, strengthening partnerships, and evidence-based, context-specific solutions can help ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn in a safe, inclusive environment.
