Despite shrinking humanitarian support and funding cuts, teachers remain on the front lines of resilience, nurturing children, holding communities together, and sustaining hope for a better future. World Teacher’s Day offers a vital moment to reaffirm the important role of teachers as the backbone of education in emergencies.
This event will spotlight the voices of teachers from East Africa working in crisis contexts, from refugee camps to resource-constrained classrooms. Together with learners and education partners, we will explore the resilience and leadership of teachers, the challenges they face, and the urgent call to action for stronger support. Join us to celebrate teachers’ invaluable contributions and to reimagine the future of education in emergencies.
