As countries advance their climate commitments through National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and other strategic policy and planning frameworks, the role of education in fostering climate adaptation and environmental sustainability is increasingly recognized, yet often insufficiently leveraged. This webinar will explore how education can be systematically integrated into national climate planning to strengthen adaptation, environmental sustainability, and long-term sustainable development goals.

Drawing on the experiences of Cambodia and Malawi, the webinar will showcase practical examples of how Ministries of Education are engaging in climate policy processes and contributing to national climate goals.

Speakers:

  • Jessica Cooke, Senior Climate Change and Education Adviser, Save the Children
  • Jennifer Merryweather, Education Specialist, Save the Children
  • Lim Sothea, Director General of Policy Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Kingdom of Cambodia

Moderators:

  • Martín Benavides, Director, IIEP
  • Leonora MacEwen, Senior Programme Specialist IIEP
