Join IIEP-UNESCO’s Community of Practice to support your country to enhance disability-inclusive education sector planning.
Children with disabilities remain among the most excluded from learning globally, often overlooked in education sector planning, financing, and implementation processes. While commitments to inclusive education are growing, translating these commitments into practical, costed, and system-wide solutions remains a challenge across many countries.
So where do we begin? Disability-inclusive education sector planning is complex and highly contextual, requiring coordinated action across policies, data systems, financing mechanisms, and service delivery. Planners often seek guidance on what works, how to adapt solutions to their contexts, and how to move from policy intent to effective implementation.
The IIEP-UNESCO in Africa has created a global Community of Practice on disability-inclusive sector planning (CoP-DIESP) that fosters knowledge exchange and collaboration to strengthen disability inclusive education systems worldwide. The CoP-DIESP was initiated as part of the regional programme ‘Planning for Inclusive Education’, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
How can the CoP-DIESP support your work?
Who can join the CoP-DIESP?
The community is open to government officials, policymakers, members of organisations of people with disabilities (OPDs), civil society organisations, multilateral organisations and NGOs, researchers, and private-sector practitioners working across different sectors on disability inclusion.
