World Literacy Summit – March 25-27

World Literacy Summit

The 2018 World Literacy Summit will be held on March 25-27 at the Sheldonian, Oxford University, UK. The theme, “Closing the literacy gap in the 21st Century,” is set to initiate discussion, collaboration and bring forward solutions to help 750 million people globally who are unable to read or write.

The call for papers and presentations opened December 1, 2017 and close January 1, 2018.

    It is very unfortunate that literary gaps still exist in many respects. Now, in the digitised world, the need for increasing idigital literacy and removing the gaps therein is also gaining challenging proportions. We cannot wait for one to come first then address the other. Both need to to be tackled simultaneously in the developing world.
    The World Literacy Summit hopefully will discuss these issues and suggest suitable strategy to remove the most worrying social evil of illiteracy.
