 RE\nIn this interactive seminar\, Shakil Ahmed shares his journey into fut
 ures studies—why he calls himself a futurist\, educator\, and storytelle
 r—and how this path led to his current doctoral research on the relation
 ship between inspiration and futures methods.\nParticipants are invited to
  reflect on their own origin stories and imagine new\, inspiring narrative
 s of the future. Together\, we’ll consider how stories of the past and f
 utures yet to be written can move us beyond Gross Domestic Product (and ot
 her paradigms that maintain the status quo)\, toward more meaningful measu
 res of collective agency.\nOrganised by the Centre for the Study of Global
  Development (CSGD)\, The Open University.\nBio:\nShakil Ahmed is a futuri
 st\, educator and storyteller at Ridiculous Futures\, a UNDP Futures Fello
 w\, and is pursuing his PhD in Foresight in Educational Leadership and Tec
 hnology Management at Tamkang University\, Taiwan.\nHe has explored the fu
 tures of financial inclusion in Nigeria\, the futures of Chiang Mai and it
 s digital nomad community\, and the futures of education with the Prime Mi
 nister's Office in Bangladesh.\nHe earned his Bachelor's degree in Theoret
 ical Physics at the National University of Singapore and his Master's degr
 ee in Educational Leadership and School Improvement at BRAC University.
