DESCRIPTION:Thursday 2 October\, 10:00-11:30 BST\nREGISTER HERE\nGlobal tea
 cher educators explore the teachers we need for the education we want in a
  World Teachers’ Day panel.\nThe session will be led by Dr Kris Stutchbu
 ry and she will be joined by Dr Catharine Bleasdale\, Dr Patriciah Wamgugu
 \, and Rita Nyirenda.\nThis interactive session will be informal and bring
 s together teacher educators from across the globe to celebrate the work o
 f teachers on World Teachers’ Day.\nWe will hear from each panellist abo
 ut the sort of teachers they need in their context and the implications fo
 r teacher professional development and pre-service teacher education. We w
 ill draw out the similarities across cultures and highlight some some of t
 he different ways in which teachers can be supported. We will draw on exam
 ples from the work we are doing in Centre for the Study of Global Developm
 ent (CSGD) researching how to empower teachers as agents of change.
