SUMMARY:The role of coalitions in transforming education systems
DESCRIPTION:21 October\, 13:00-14:00\nIn person and online\nREGISTER HERE\n
How do practitioners\, researchers\, and activists get better at driving c
hange in education? A power and systems approach\nDrawing on the recently
published second edition of his book\, Duncan Green will be sharing lesson
s for education activists– not just in civil society\, but in government
\, the education system and anywhere where people are trying to make the w
orld a better place. He will touch on a bit of theory\, but the focus of t
his seminar will be a practical one. Drawing on his 20 years with Oxfam\,
on numerous conversations with activists around the world\, and the knowle
dge and ideas in the room\, Duncan will share valuable insights on how we
can get more intentional about effecting change. How do we move from a bet
ter understanding of the problem\, to unpacking the power and stakeholders
around a given issue\, to coming up with a strategy with a decent chance
of getting results? \nDuncan will be signing copies of the new edition of
his book after the seminar. If you want to buy a copy\, please bring £10
in cash or make sure you have Paypal account details on hand. The book is
free online\, but then you’ll miss out on getting it signed.\nSeminar jo
intly organised by the Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) C
entre and the Politics of Education (POLED) student network at the Faculty
  of Education\, University of Cambridge.
