 earning
DESCRIPTION:11 March\, 1-2pm GMT\nREGISTER HERE\nJoin this REAL Centre and
 Play in Education Development and Learning (PEDAL) Centre seminar in perso
 n at the Faculty of Education\, University of Cambridge\, or online\, to h
 ear from invited speaker:\nDr Matthew Jukes\, Fellow in International Educ
 ation\, RTI International\nThis seminar introduces the PLAY measurement to
 olkit - a suite of tools to measure adult support for children’s engagem
 ent in learning. The toolkit is designed for children aged 0-12 years and
 measures the support they receive from teachers in classrooms and from car
 egivers at home.\nThe tool had been developed and validated in 10 low- and
  middle-income countries with support from the Lego Foundation. A recent W
 orld Bank study in primary schools in Ethiopia\, Sierra Leone and Peru fou
 nd that the tool was strongly predictive of student learning. The presenta
 tion will include discussion of the use and validation of the toolkit and
 the implications of study findings for strategies to promote student engag
 ement in the home and classroom.\n&nbsp\;
