SUMMARY:Researching Climate Action: Early Career Researchers’ Voices
DESCRIPTION:19 April\, 10:00-15:15 BST\nRegister here for this online event
\nClimate justice is at the forefront of policy and research agendas acros
s the world. As more is established around the nature and extent of the cl
imate crisis\, sometimes called a ‘super-wicked’ problem because of it
s complexity\, a key concern is the dissemination of climate change relate
d knowledge. This is increasingly a priority given the need to mainstream
climate change. \nThis event aims to engage early career researchers\, pr
actitioners\, and activists around their work on climate action research p
rojects. It will highlight the experiences of those in the early stages of
a climate action career by exploring their experiences in a range of part
icipatory action research groups (PARGs). These groups involved both the c
o-creation of climate change knowledge between a range of actors as well a
s the publicising of this knowledge through novel multi-media and communic
ation channels. The latter included the use of audio and visual media in t
he creation process\, as well as the use of social media platforms in orde
r to circulate knowledge and generate engagement around climate change in
different national contexts.\nThe event presents an opportunity to highlig
ht the lessons that can be learnt from the experiences of early career res
earchers\, practitioners\, and activists when conducting climate action re
search of this nature.\nThe event is open to all those with an interest in
the issues under discussion. The event is free to attend\, but registrati
on on Eventbrite is required.\nProgramme\n10-10:30: Welcome and introduct
