SUMMARY:Reimagining financing in conflict-affected settings: lessons from e
 ducation\, health and social protection
DESCRIPTION:25 February 2026\, 9:30-18:00 GMT\nREGISTER HERE\nSee full agen
da and list of speakers here\nThis event will take place virtually and at
ODI Global's offices in London\, UK.\nThe venue has limited capacity so in
-person attendance is not guaranteed. Please register and confirmation for
in-person attendance will follow.\nKnowledge on financing in protracted c
rises driven by conflict\, climate shocks\, and macroeconomic stressors re
mains fragmented across sectors and programmes\, limiting opportunities fo
r system-wide learning. At the same time\, shrinking aid budgets and shift
ing geopolitics are prompting bilateral and multilateral donors to reasses
s their priorities and engagement strategies. This creates a critical poli
cy window to synthesise existing knowledge on best practice and inform sys
tem priorities going forward.\nAgainst this backdrop\, the ERICC research
consortium and ODI Global are convening a forum that brings together finan
cing specialists and experts across education\, health\, and social protec
tion sectors to critically examine how the architecture of foreign aid for
conflict settings shapes outcomes on the ground\, and how it can be reima
gined to better strengthen the capacities of domestic state and non-state
actors.\nTo surface actionable lessons\, on 25 February 2026\, this forum
will convene policymakers\, researchers\, and sector practitioners to deba
te options going forward and their trade-offs. Expertise will draw from FC
DO-funded research consortia working in conflict settings\, including ERIC
C (Education Research in Conflict and Protracted Crises)\, ReBUILD (Rebuil
d for Resilience)\, BASIC (Better Assistance in Crises) and STAAR (Social
Protection Technical Assistance\, Advice and Resources)\; ODI Global in-ho
use experts from Development and Public Finance team\, Humanitarian Policy
group\, ALNAP (Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance
  in humanitarian action)\; and donor agencies.\n&nbsp\;
