 on\, with support from Better Purpose\, will be hosting two\, connected le
 arning sessions on teacher professional development to support quality tea
 ching.\n&nbsp\;\nREGISTER HERE for the first session focused on pre-servic
 e teacher development.\n&nbsp\;\nEven before COVID-19\, the world was faci
 ng a learning crisis\, with nearly 6 of every 10 children in low- and midd
 le-income countries suffering from learning poverty. Pandemic-driven schoo
 l closures have deepened the crisis\, sharply increasing learning poverty 
 to an estimated 70 percent (The State of Global Learning Poverty: 2022 Upd
 ate). The quality of instruction a learner receives is a large determinant
  of their learning outcomes\, but low teacher capacity is a significant ba
 rrier to improving acquisition of FLN.\nIn this learning session\, we will
 :\n\n	Review the current state of pre-service teacher education in Sub-Sah
 aran Africa and South Asia.\n	Explore how we can improve the quality of pr
 e-service practicum experiences through exploration of case studies.\n	Ide
