bridge Refugee Hub/ Centre for Global Human Movement\n	REAL Centre\, Unive
rsity of Cambridge\n\nIn times of crisis\, displacement\, and war\, educat
ion becomes both a battleground and a site of resistance. Schools and univ
ersities are not only places of learning but also spaces where power is ne
gotiated\, knowledge is contested\, and futures are shaped. This conferenc
e seeks to critically examine the role of higher education and schooling a
midst conflict and forced migration\, bringing together scholars\, student
s\, policymakers\, and practitioners to rethink the politics of knowledge
production in times of upheaval.\nCoinciding with World Refugee Day in Jun
e\, the event interrogates dominant\, top-down approaches to education in
crisis settings—approaches that often reinforce global knowledge hierarc
hies and marginalize the voices of those most affected. It calls for a rad
ical reimagining of education: not as a system imposed on displaced commun
ities but as one co-led by refugees and forcibly displaced people. How can
higher education and schools serve as a space of resistance\, inclusion\,
and collaboration? What does it take to develop knowledge production mode
ls that centre local expertise\, lived experience\, and the agency of refu
gee scholars and institutions—including those operating in exile?\nThis
conference is grounded in a decolonial ethos\, foregrounding equity\, rela
tionality\, and resistance to structural inequalities in global education
governance. Participants will explore the challenges of building partnersh
ips in emergency settings\, the politics of solidarity\, and the role of b
oth schooling and higher education in shaping the futures of displaced pop
ulations. Key themes include:\n– The power dynamics of knowledge product
ion in crisis-affected education\n– Refugee-led education initiatives an
d the decolonization of humanitarian aid\n– The role of international or
ganisations\, donors\, and local actors in shaping education governance\n
 – The politics of academic exile and the possibilities for sustaining in
tellectual communities in displacement\n– Strategies for co-producing re
search and teaching under conditions of war and forced migration\n– The
challenges of accountability\, equity\, and sustainability in education in
terventions\n– The role of universities and in particular the University
of Cambridge.\nThis gathering also marks the culmination of the British A
cademy Bilateral Chair Programme between the Centre for Lebanese Studies a
nd the University of Cambridge. Building on years of work on refugee educa
tion and its politics\, the conference offers a moment to reflect on the t
rajectory of the field over the past two decades—while pushing toward mo
 re just\, inclusive\, and sustainable academic futures.\n&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;
