 ucation and Skills\, Andreas Schleicher will share information about the s
 cope\, approach\, and findings of the new OECD report “Beyond academic l
 earning – first results from the Survey on Social and Emotional Skills
 ”\, followed by a panel discussion with an international panel of educat
 ion leaders and SES experts.\nThree years in the making\, this first-ever 
 international comparative survey into social and emotional skills identifi
 es and assesses the conditions and practices that foster or hinder the dev
 elopment of social and emotional skills for 10- and 15-year-old students.
  \nInformation was collected from a survey of parents\, teachers\, educat
 ors\, and students from 9 different countries around the world. \nBroad I
 nsights from the report include:\n\n	How does the distribution of social a
 nd emotional skills vary according to gender\, immigration background\, or
  socio-economic status across participating cities? And how can policy hel
 p reduce skill disparities across disadvantaged groups of students based o
 n the evidence?\n	Which social and emotional skills influence students’ 
 learning and social outcomes\, such as academic achievement\, conduct\, he
 alth\, life satisfaction\, and overall well-being?\n	What are the similari
 ties and differences between social and emotional skills and various life 
 outcomes across 10- and 15-year-old students?\n	What factors promote or hi
 nder the development of social and emotional skills in students' home\, sc
 hool\, and peer environments?  \n\nThe session will be introduced by Ulr
 ik Vestergaard Knudsen\, OECD Deputy Secretary-General\, followed by Paige
  Johnson\, VP Education Marketing\, Microsoft\, followed by a presentation
  by OECD Director for Education and Skills\, Andreas Schleicher\, and a pa
