 ent the size and determinants of the learning loss brought about by school
  closures\, identify policy options to reverse these losses\, and setting 
 the bases of a more resilient education system.\nThe Conference is divided
  into three parts:\n\n	An overview of the pre-pandemic global learning cri
 sis and the mechanisms through which this was exacerbated by the COVID-19 
 pandemic\n	The elements of a “Learning Recovery Plan” based on recent 
 evidence of interventions that have proven to be effective to improve lear
 ning\, particularly among disadvantaged students\n	Lessons that can be dra
 wn from the COVID-19 pandemic in the road towards the construction of a mo
 re resilient\, efficient\, and equitable education system.\n\nThe Conferen
 ce will be concluded by a panel summarizing a call to action.\nConference 
 will be moderated by Lenora Chu\, special correspondent\, Berlin\, for Th
 e Christian Science Monitor. She is also an author of "Little Soldiers" 
 – a narrative account of China’s education system published by HarperC
 ollins (2017). "Little Soldiers" won the Nautilus Award\, ASJA’s 2018 no
 nfiction prize\, and was also shortlisted for Stanford’s Saroyan Interna
