SUMMARY:Global perspectives on girls’ education (Hybrid)
DESCRIPTION:28 October\, 17:30-18:30 GMT\nIs gender equity a challenge or a
n opportunity? Join us as we explore the possibilities of a shared global
 commitment.\nGlobal perspectives on girls’ education\nREGISTER HERE\nIn
a globalised world\, achieving gender equity\, particularly for the most m
arginalized girls\, remains a challenge. Ensuring equal education for all\
, especially the most vulnerable children\, is both a global and local com
mitment. Although a difficult target\, this issue has fostered global and
local partnerships\, creating stronger connections between practitioners\,
human rights advocates\, academics\, and policymakers. Thus\, the challen
ge presents an opportunity for dialogue among these stakeholders. In this
spirit\, the event brings together a global girls’ education advocate\,
Mr. Ziauddin Yousafzai (Co-founder of the Malala Fund)\, and a leading sch
olar of girls’ education\, Professor Pauline Rose (Director of the Resea
rch for Equitable Access and Learning Centre\, Cambridge)\, in conversatio
n with each other and the audience to discuss experiences and pressing iss
ues in this area.\nAgenda:\n17:30 - 17:40 Introductions by Heath Rose and
 Aliya Khalid\n17:40 - 17:55 Brief comments by Mr Ziauddin Yousafzai\, Co-f
ounder Malala Fund\n18:00 - 18:15 Brief comments by Professor Pauline Rose
\, Director REAL centre Cambridge\n18:15 - 18:30 Open discussion with Spea
kers and audience\nThe event is in a hybrid format. The seminar link will
be sent one day in advance of the lecture.
