DESCRIPTION:In recent years\, we have seen significant progress in gender p
 arity in education globally and the closing of gender gaps in education in
  certain regions. However\, education in its current format is not reachin
 g its transformative potential. In this context\, gender transformative ed
 ucation has emerged as an approach\, an objective\, and a call to action f
 or comprehensive education reform\, to secure real and lasting outcomes to
 wards gender equality in and beyond education. The phrase “gender transf
 ormative education” is used in various contexts and by many different ac
 tors - but a universal understanding of the phrase has yet to emerge. This
  Global Education Summit side event aims to further answer the question 
 “What is gender transformative education?”\, redefining how we approac
 h gender equality in education and providing practical solutions for harne
