DESCRIPTION:5 March\, 15:00-17:00 GMT\nREGISTER HERE\nThe IOE\, UCL's Facul
 ty of Education and Society and the Centre for Education and International
  Development is hosting a public seminar. Hear from UNESCO and education m
 inistries in Indonesia\, Kenya and Malawi on how they are innovatively thi
 nking about data collection and analysis to promote gender equality in and
  through education\nIn the week of International Women's Day\, which takes
  place on March 8th\, this seminar is an opportunity to hear from UNESCO a
 nd representatives of three governments regarding the work they have done 
 to promote and sustain gender equality in and through education. The semin
 ar is hosted as part of the work of Accountability for Gender Equality in 
 Education (AGEE): Bridging the local\, national and global\, a collaborati
 ve research project\, led by University College London (UCL) in partnershi
 p with UNESCO and the University of Malawi. The project seeks to redefine 
 how gender equality in and through education is understood\, measured\, an
 d advocated for globally. Reflections on these themes will be presented fr
 om UNESCO and representatives of the governments in Indonesia\, Malawi and
  Kenya\, who work on gender and education policies. Some of the AGEE initi
 atives will be outlined to support thinking about gender equality in and t
 hrough education in ways that goes beyond basic gender parity indicators\,
  using a more comprehensive and participatory approaches to data collectio
 n\, usage\, and advocacy. The seminar is an opportunity to engage with tho
 se seeking to make gender equality in education a reality.\nDistinguished
