SUMMARY:Developing collaborative projects: why\, how and with whom
DESCRIPTION:24 Oct 2023 13:00 - 14:00 BST\nRegister for the webinar here\nA
ddressing complex global development issues requires research grounded in
collaboration. Successful projects are built on the development and mainte
nance of strong equal partnerships between disciplines\, sectors\, and sta
 keholders (Fransman et al.\, 2021). However\, a myriad of challenges can i
nhibit effective and meaningful collaborations including misalignment of p
riorities\, differences in ways of working\, uncertain commitment\, fundin
g\, changing project teams\, inefficient communication\, management and le
adership issues and policy and political contexts (Meibner et al.\, 2022).
\nIn this seminar we hear from Professor Norman Sartorius\, the President
of the Association for the Improvement of Mental Health Programmes\, and p
ast President of the World Psychiatric Association and the European Psychi
atric Association who will pose three questions: first\, how to select par
tners for collaborative projects\; second how to successfully conduct such
studies and third what benefits of participation should be sought and ens
ured. Professor Sartorius will draw on his extensive experience leading a
number of international collaborative studies and projects. We hope you wi
ll join the discussion on the why\, how and with whom to collaborate on gl
obal development research projects.\nAbout Professor Norman Sartorius\nPro
