DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 4 March\, 12-2pm\, including a networking lunch served 
 from 1:15pm\nSeminar rooms\, Triangle building\, Cambridge\nRegister here\
 nJoin Sara Hennessy\, Professor of Educational Dialogue and Pedagogical In
 quiry\, Faculty of Education\, and Rachel West\, Senior Professional Devel
 opment Manager\, Cambridge University Press &amp\; Assessmentfac\, for the
  first of a termly 'Cambridge Conversations in Education' dialogue.\nThe t
 alk will focus on an ongoing collaboration in which professional learning 
 resources based on research from the Cambridge Educational Dialogue Resear
 ch (CEDiR) group at the Faculty of Education are piloted and adapted by a 
 team at Cambridge University Press &amp\; Assessment\, in order to embed a
  dialogic ethos in teacher professional development.\nA long tradition of 
 research in the CEDiR group demonstrates that a dialogic approach supports
  learning. Educational dialogue involves participants sharing\, exploring 
 and critically engaging with others’ perspectives and reasons. The resou
 rces of which are being developed by the pioneering Camtree initiative at 
 Hughes Hall\, which promotes\, supports and publishes practitioner researc
 h across diverse contexts globally.\nThe conversation will illustrate the 
 process of translating academic research into practice through a very prod
 uctive collaboration.\nThis marks the first of a series of exploratory dia
 logues between Cambridge University Press &amp\; Assessment (CUP&amp\;A) a
 nd the University of Cambridge academic staff\, intended to strengthen a s
 hared mission to advance knowledge and foster educational excellence.\nThe
 se seminars are open to all students\, post doc\, and staff members.
