SUMMARY:Building Inclusive Education Systems for Refugees
DESCRIPTION:6 December 2023\, 14:00-15:15\nMillions of refugee children and
  youth around the world\, forced to seek safety from conflict and violence
 \, must also confront uncertain educational futures. As global displacemen
 t rises\, there is an urgent need for inclusive education systems that als
 o address the needs of these displaced learners. However\, refugees are of
 ten overlooked in educational policies and remain unrepresented in data sy
 stems\, limiting their access to quality education in their host countries
 .\nIn this webinar\, we will explore effective strategies for the inclusio
 n of refugees in national education systems. Drawing on several complement
 ary research studies by UNHCR\, UNICEF Innocenti\, and UNESCO\, our panel 
 will present promising practices to highlight the opportunities and challe
 nges of effective inclusion.\nBeginning with a global overview of educatio
 nal inclusion from a policy and data perspective\, presenters will then di
 ve into regional-level insights on refugee inclusion in the West and Centr
 al African region and the Latin American and Caribbean regions.\nOn the si
 delines of the upcoming 2023 Global Refugee Forum\, this webinar will also
  launch a joint inter-agency brief\, two publications by UNESCO-UNHCR\, an
 d a forthcoming UNICEF publication on refugee inclusion that will build ev
 idence and inform discussions on fostering greater inclusion for refugees
