27 April, School of Education, University of GlasgowScottish Saltire

UKFIET and the Robert Owen Centre for Educational Change at the School of Education, University of Glasgow, invite you to a meeting of the Scottish resource in Education and Development.

The meeting will bring together members of relevant Scottish and UK government departments, academics based at Scottish universities, and Scotland-based NGOs working on education in the Global South.  The Scottish government sees education as an area where Scotland can make a meaningful contribution in lower-income countries, and it supports education projects and research as part of its commitment.  Additionally, geography means that academics and others working in Scotland may have fewer opportunities to attend meetings held in the South-East of the UK.  It is important that we know who is working on education in these contexts so that we can support policy and programme development, respond to Scotland-based and wider collaborative opportunities, and learn from each other.  A good starting point is to know who we are.

Participation is free but places are limited and so registration is essential

The Programme for the Meeting of the Scottish Resource in Education and Development is now available and will be sent out to registered participants.   Please come prepared to discuss your own and your organisation’s interests and how the Scottish resource in Education and Development might work together.

For information on the purposes and plans for the afternoon, please contact Michele Schweisfurth, Chair of the UKFIET Board of Trustees and Director of the Robert Owen Centre for Educational Change (Michele.schweisfurth@glasgow.ac.uk).
