Global monitoring report
The 2011 Education for All Global Monitoring Report warns that armed conflict is robbing 28 million children of an education by exposing them to widespread sexual violence, targeted attacks on schools and other abuses.
Management
UKFIET is managed by trustees, elected officers and an executive committee of representatives from member organisations. The annual general meeting takes place in September.
Members of the Executive Committee met on 14th March 2012 with the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for International Development - Stephen O'Brien MP to seek the minister's advice and support. Download the summary of the meeting.

| Professor Simon McGarth | Simon McGrath is Professor of International Education and Development at the University of Nottingham and the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Educational Development. He researches into the relationship between education and development, particularly in the area of skills development and aid policy, and in the Southern Africa region. |
| Freda Wolfenden | Freda is Senior Lecturer in Education and Development in the Faculty of Education and Language Studies at the Open University, UK where she currently holds the post of Associate Dean for Curriculum. Her specialist area is international teacher education and since 2008 Freda has directed the Teacher Education in Sub Saharan Africa (TESSA) programme of activities. TESSA is a Research and Development programme, led by the Open University, UK, working closely with a large number of African and international partners to seek to improve teacher quality in ten countries. |
